Starkville Voices to Host Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District School Board Candidate Forum

Starkville Voices will host a Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District School Board Candidate Forum on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
The forum will feature candidates Maggie Cooks and Cassandra Palmer and provide community members with an opportunity to hear directly from those seeking to serve on the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District Board of Trustees.
The school board election is scheduled for November 3, 2026, and the race is nonpartisan.
Why Host a Candidate Forum?
Local school board members make decisions that can have a lasting impact on students, families, educators, and the broader community.
The purpose of this forum is not to support or oppose either candidate. Starkville Voices is committed to providing a neutral space where candidates can discuss their priorities, experiences, and perspectives on issues facing public education in our community.
Candidates will be asked questions about topics including public education, the future of the school district, growth in Starkville and Oktibbeha County, major school projects, community engagement, and other issues important to families and community members.
The forum will also include questions informed by the community.
Civic Engagement Starts With Information
Starkville Voices believes voters should have opportunities to hear directly from candidates before casting their ballots.
Candidate forums are one way we work toward our mission:
To Inform the People. To Empower the People. To Engage the People.
Additional information regarding the forum and viewing options will be shared through Starkville Voices.
We encourage community members to learn about the candidates, ask questions, and participate in the democratic process.
Starkville Voices is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Hosting a candidate forum does not constitute an endorsement of any candidate.
